Our design approach balances beauty with function, ensuring each space feels both effortless and deeply personal.

I’m Lauren Stephenson, Creative Director of Neo Interior Design, based in Perth, Western Australia. Design is in my DNA. Growing up in a family of designers, I developed a natural love for interiors and an intuitive eye for detail.

My career began in the furniture and tiling industry, where I built a strong foundation in product knowledge. After a decade of study and hands-on experience in interior design, I launched Neo Interior Design in 2013.

From the beginning, I recognised a common challenge: many clients struggled to imagine how finishes and colours would come together in their own homes. By guiding them through tailored palettes, curated materials, and clear visualisation, I watched their uncertainty turn into excitement. Seeing the joy in their reactions confirmed what I already knew – this is my passion, and my purpose.

Lauren Stephenson

Creative Director & Founder

Lauren Stephenson is the Creative Director and Founder of Neo Interior Design, a leading boutique design studio based in Perth, Western Australia.

Coming from a family of designers, Lauren developed a natural love for interiors and a keen eye for detail from an early age. Her career began in the custom furniture and tiling industry, where she built a strong foundation in collaboration, relationships, product knowledge, and an appreciation for quality craftsmanship.

After more than a decade of learning and studying interior design, Lauren established Neo Interior Design in 2013. It was through this journey that she discovered her true passion, helping clients bring their visions to life. Recognising that many clients found it difficult to visualise how colours, textures, and finishes would come together in their homes, Lauren made it her mission to bridge that gap. Her thoughtful guidance, attentive listening and ability to deliver exceptional results quickly set her apart within the industry.

In addition to her interior design work, Lauren has also developed a strong passion for real estate growth for her clients. She collaborates with some of Western Australia’s top real estate agents as an interior design strategist, helping homeowners and investors increase the value of their properties through strategic design. From developing renovation plans that enhance functionality and flow to creating spaces that are both beautiful and practical for everyday living, Lauren ensures every project maximises both lifestyle and return on investment.

Lauren’s work and expertise have been widely recognised. She has been featured in leading editorial magazines, appeared on the front page of The West Australian, and served as both an interior design judge and mentor to emerging designers.

Under Lauren’s leadership, Neo Interior Design has become known for its innovative systems and client-focused approach, streamlining the design experience to make it enjoyable and stress-free. She has carefully curated a talented team of designers, stylists, procurement specialists and project managers who share her passion for excellence, creativity, and collaboration.

Driven by a commitment to perfection and a genuine love for design, Lauren continues to lead Neo Interior Design with integrity, innovation and heart, creating beautiful, functional spaces that inspire and enrich the lives of her clients and her team alike..

Imogen Fernihough

Admin & Procurement Assistant

As Neo Interior Design’s Admin and Procurement Assistant, Imogen brings a wealth of experience in administration, organisation, and client coordination. With over five years in administrative roles – including supporting a Managing Director within a leading advertising agency – she has developed a sharp eye for detail and a passion for creating seamless systems that keep operations running smoothly.

At Neo, Imogen manages the day-to-day office administration, client onboarding, and the procurement and logistics of furniture and materials. She takes pride in maintaining structure and efficiency while supporting the creative flow of each project.

A natural creative, Imogen enjoys reading, writing, art, and crochet in her spare time, and can often be found with a cup of tea and her three cats nearby. She thrives on blending creativity with organisation and is inspired by the artistry and collaboration that define the interior design industry. Since joining Neo in early 2025, Imogen has embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the team’s continued success.

Bree Howie

Content Creator & Interior Stylist

Bree is recognised for her vibrant, humorous, and highly creative approach, bringing a distinctive blend of interior design expertise and 3D visual design skills to Neo. With over five years in the business, she has developed a deep understanding of the studio’s design language, allowing her to translate ideas into clear, considered, and visually compelling concepts that align seamlessly with Neo’s aesthetic.

Working closely alongside Lauren on a number of large-scale residential projects, Bree plays a key role in developing both the design direction and visualisation process. Her background in interior design, styling, colour coordination, and graphic design gives her a strong intuitive sense of proportion, atmosphere, and materiality, which she brings into her 3D visual work to help clients clearly envision their future spaces.

Bree’s attention to detail and natural styling ability consistently elevate each project, ensuring every design feels cohesive, refined, and thoughtfully resolved.

Lizzie Thomas

Design & Client Experience Coordinator

Lizzie is the Design & Client Experience Coordinator at Neo Interior Design, bringing over 15 years of experience across technology, client experience, and creative industries. Most notability, she worked with one of the world’s leading software companies, where she developed strong expertise in communication, relationship management, and project coordination.

Before relocating to Australia, Lizzie also managed a successful garden design studio in the UK, combining creativity with client service and business operations. This experience strengthened her passion for thoughtfully designed spaces and the impact they have on everyday living.

Currently studying Interior Design, Lizzie is passionate about creating interiors that feel both functional and personal. Known for her warm, outgoing personality, she naturally connects with people and thrives in collaborative environments. Her approachable nature, positive energy, and attention to detail help clients feel comfortable, supported, and confident throughout the design process.
